Asics Court FF Novak arvostelu

SUMMARY

Ideal for:

Court FF 3 Novak is Asics’ flagship model, designed in collaboration with Novak Djokovic. It’s ideal for the player who wants a shoe that’s especially durable and supportive.

The Court FF 3 shoes are built with high-quality and durable materials to provide good support for the player. The shoes have a built-in sock-like interior, which allows the shoes to fit snugly around the foot.

The sock prevents the foot from moving lengthwise or widthwise inside the shoe. I found that the shoes provide good and versatile support for both changing direction and when hitting the ball.

Because of the added extra support, the Court FF shoes are heavier and stiffer than the average tennis shoe. In the beginning, the shoes felt stiff and uncomfortable, but after breaking them in, they started to adapt better to the foot.

The Court FF 3 Novak shoes are therefore perfect for the player who prioritizes durability, support, and high quality. If, on the other hand, comfort and lightness are a priority, you should turn to the Gel Challenger 14 or Solution Speed FF 3.

Special Features

  • TWISTRUSS™ technology, which allows the weight of the shoe to be strategically distributed to improve agility.
  • MONO-SOCK™ technology, which forms a sock-like texture inside the shoe for improved comfort and stability.
  • Three-piece outsole for easy movement on the field.

Material Quality 10/10

Asics court FF Novak ylhäältä

Compared to other Asics models, the Court FF 3 Novak shoes have arguably the best quality. The outsole is finished with high-quality rubber and the soles are thick and balanced.

The flap is padded and has a built-in pocket to hide the laces. Previously, this pocket was also found on other Asics models such as the Gel-Resolution 8, but the flap has been left out of the ninth-generation model.

The Asics models tend to have long laces, so I’ve always liked having a pocket inside the flap where you can hide the laces.

The interior of the Court FF 3 Novak shoes is also built to a very high quality. The interior is upholstered in a comfortable material that makes the inside of the shoe feel like a sturdy sock.

Comfort 7.5/10

Cushioning: the shoe is highly cushioned and no surface rubs against the foot. Some of Asics’ other models tend to rub the heel while playing, but the Court FF 3 Novak has a well-finished heel area.

Stiffness: the shoe is very stiff and requires a longer break-in period to adapt to the player’s foot. The stiffness is particularly noticeable in the mid-shoe and toe area, which is reflected in the shoe’s reluctance to flex with the foot in movement.

Heel: the heel is well-padded and cushioned. Your heel does not become sore during play and the heel material does not rub against you.

Toes: the shoe has good room for the toes and the material in the toe section is comfortable. Due to the stiff sole, the pressure is not evenly distributed in the shoe, and when playing on the toes, the pressure is concentrated in the toe area, making the shoe feel hard.

Prolonged use: you can play with the shoes for long periods of time, just fine, without your feet getting sore during the game. Sometimes I noticed that my feet were a bit sore after longer games.

Support And Stability 9.5/10

Lateral support: the shoe supports the foot well in lateral movements, which helps to find a stable hitting stance.

Ankle support: the ankle area is well and firmly supported.

Arch support: the arch of the foot has neutral support, making it suitable for players with over- or under-pronation.

Agility 8/10

Change of direction: good support from the shoes makes it quick to change direction.

Speed: the shoes are on the heavier end (~ 14,29 / 405gr) so they offer the player average speed.

Flexibility: due to several support features, the shoes are stiff and do not flex much in extreme positions.

Grip 9/10

Sole shape: the sole of the shoe consists of two raised sections.

The grip on hard ground: the shoes offer a good grip for sprints and stops.

The grip in long use: the shoes maintain good grip even after long periods of use, and moisture does not condense on the sole of the shoe.

Breathability 8/10

Moisture: shoes are fairly breathable, but socks tend to get damp after a long playing session.

Weight 8.5/10

Compared to other Asics models, the Court FF 3 Novaks are on the heavier side, but thanks to their heavier weight, they are able to offer better support.

  • Court FF 3 Novak weight 12.49oz / 405g
  • Solution Speed weight 10.58oz / 300g
  • Gel-Challenger 14 weight 12.35oz / 350g

The Fit 9/10

Size in general: the shoes fit well, so there’s no need to choose a size smaller or larger. For example, with Wilson’s shoes, I usually have to choose a size larger, as their shoe size does not match the general shoe sizes.

Width: the width of the shoe is wide enough and does not squeeze laterally.

Adjustability: the fit of the shoes is adjustable with the laces, and the laces hold well.

Value For Money 8/10

Price range: the new Court FF 3 Novaks cost $175, putting them in the more expensive “flagship” price range. The more expensive price range is for experienced players and does not offer as good value for money for the average player.

For a $175 shoe, the Court FF 3 Novaks could offer more playing comfort.

Lifespan: the shoes are made of high-quality materials, so they can easily last 6 months or even more than 12 months.

Asics Court FF Novak arvostelu

SUMMARY

Ideal for:

Asics Gel-Resolution X is the latest 2025 model in Asics’ Gel-Resolution series. This shoe is specifically designed for competitive players who value stability and good support. Made from durable and high-quality materials, it is well-suited for demanding use.

Compared to the previous Gel-Resolution 9 model, the X-model offers better cushioning, especially in the flap and ankle areas. The flap is also longer, and the rubber coating at the back of the ankle has been replaced with fabric, similar to what is found in the Gel-Challenger 14 model.

When I put on the Gel-Resolution X shoes, they felt softer, more elevated, and roomier compared to the previous 9th-generation model. The most notable differences were the added cushioning in the flap and ankle area. Additionally, the toe box felt wider but not as supportive as in the previous model.

The new X version features extra padding in the heel, making the shoes feel slightly elevated. Having used the Gel-Resolution models for the past four years, I found this new X model to be noticeably softer and more cushioned. However, this change made the shoes feel less sharp and supportive than I would have preferred.

The heel area, in particular, took some time to get used to. For the first few hours, standing in them felt a bit strange due to the added padding.

Despite the extra cushioning and padding in the new X model, they felt more uncomfortable after my playtests. During play, they felt good, but once I took them off, my feet were sore. This was likely due to the new sole shape, which doesn’t fit my feet as well as the previous model. The updated sole features a widened toe area, creating an uneven support for my feet.

I would recommend the new Asics Gel-Resolution X for players looking for a wider, more cushioned, and softer version of the Gel-Resolution. However, if you were happy with the 9th-generation model, I’d suggest sticking with it, as it offers a more supportive and responsive feel for your game.

Special Features

  • PGUARD® technology increases the durability in the upper’s forefoot inside area.
  • DYNAWALL™ technology makes lateral movements easier and more stable.
  • DYNALACING® technology creates a more stable fit during dynamic movements.
  • Forefoot GEL® technology increases the impact absorption and creates a softer feeling at the footstrike.

Material Quality 9/10

Asics Gel-Resolution X tennis shoes are constructed with high-quality materials. The flap and the ankle area are even more cushioned and well-finished than in the previous model. However, the exterior of the shoes is coated with thinner rubber, and the rubber coating on the outside of the heel has been removed.

I would say that the material quality compared to the previous model is pretty much the same, but the thinner rubber coating may slightly affect the durability.

Overall compared to other Asics tennis shoe models, the Gel-Resolutions have the second-best quality.

Comfort 8/10

Cushioning: the X-model offers better cushioning compared to the previous model. No surface rubs against the foot. The heel area is well cushioned and the foot doesn’t hurt during hard movements.

Stiffness: the shoes feel a bit stiff, especially noticeable on the sides of the foot. The wider toe box makes the shoes feel more loose.

Heel: the heel area is extra padded and cushioned compared to the previous model. It is also upholstered comfortably so the heel doesn’t rub when playing.

Toes: the toe box is wider than in the previous model, giving your toes more room. However, this extra space means the X-model doesn’t provide the same level of support as the previous version.

Prolonged use: the shoes are comfortable to play in, but after long sessions, my feet became sore due to the new shape of the soles.

Support And Stability 8.5/10

Lateral support: the shoes support the foot well in lateral movements and the movement is easy to stop without rolling the ankle. However, the 9th-generation model offers slightly better lateral support.

Ankle support:  the ankle area is supported and the ankle does not move unintentionally inside the shoe. The laces extend far enough so that the ankle can be locked securely. Due to the extra cushioning and padding, your heel doesn’t feel as supported as it did in the previous model.

Arch support: For me, the new wider toe box doesn’t fit my foot’s arch well, as it feels squeezed in the middle while being too loose in the toe area.

Agility 8.5/10

Changes of direction: the shoes are reasonably agile for their weight, but due to the extra cushioning and padding, they don’t offer the same responsiveness as the previous model.

Speed: because of their weight, the shoes are medium fast. Players looking for maximum speed might prefer the Solution Speed FF 3 and Gel-Challenger 14 models.

Flexibility: Gel-Resolution X shoes are designed to be stable and supportive. Although the Gel-Resolutions are stiff, they still offer good playing comfort.

Grip 9/10

Sole shape: the sole of the shoe consists of a flat section, unlike the Court FF 3 Novak and Solution Speed FF 3 models.

The grip on the hard court: the shoes have excellent grip and make it easy to control your movements on the court. The shoes do not slide unnecessarily and it is easy to stop the movement.

The grip in long use: the grip of the shoes remains good even during long playing sessions.

Breathability 8.5/10

Moisture: thanks to the thinner rubber coating, the X-model offers better breathability compared to the previous version. Moisture condensation is hardly noticeable, even during long playing sessions.

Weight 8/10

Compared to the previous model, the X-model weighs about 2 ounces (56.7 grams) more—the equivalent of a tennis ball. Due to this extra weight, the shoes don’t feel as agile and responsive as the previous version.

  • Gel-Resolution X weight 16.1 ounces / 456,43g
  • Court FF 3 Novak weight 14.29oz / 405g
  • Gel-Resolution 9 weight 13.8 oz / 393g
  • Gel-Challenger 14 weight 12.35oz / 350g
  • Solution Speed weight 10.58oz / 300g

The Fit 8/10

Size in general: it’s recommended to go half a size smaller in the new X-model due to the wider toe box and updated sole shape.

Width: the sole is wider in the toe box area compared to the previous model, but it narrows through the midfoot. For me, this design is slightly uncomfortable.

Adjustability: the fit of the shoes can be adjusted well with the laces, and the laces hold reasonably well. Sometimes during the game, you get the feeling that the laces should be tightened.

Value For Money 8.5/10

Price range: The new Gel-Resolution X shoes cost $160, so they’re on the expensive side. For the price, they’re good for the active player who wants a quality, durable shoe.

Lifespan: the shoes are made with high-quality materials, so they should last a long time. However, the rubber coating is slightly thinner than in the previous model, so with active use, they may wear down within 12 months.

Asics Gel-Resolution 9 (Old model, going out of production)

Asics Court FF Novak vaaka

Pros & Cons

  • Supportive and durable shoes
  • Agile for their weight
  • Made from high-quality materials
  • Excellent grip
  • Slightly stiff

Model Name: Gel-Resolution 9

Price: $150.00

Court Type: Hard

Asics Court FF Novak arvostelu

SUMMARY

Ideal for:

The Gel-Resolution 9 is Asics’ more stable and support-focused model for the competitive player. The Gel-Resolution shoes are built with high-quality and durable materials, making them well-suited for demanding use.

Compared to other Asics models, the Gel-Resolutions rank as the second highest in quality and support, just below the Court FF 3 Novak. While they may not have the same level of finish as the Court FF 3 Novak, the Gel-Resolutions provide better quality and comfort for the price.

Being $30 cheaper than the Court FF 3, they use surprisingly high-quality materials and in my opinion, offer a better playing experience. When I played with the Gel-Resolutions, my movement felt stable and sharp. The grip on the court was excellent and the shoes made it easy to perform directional changes.

In terms of comfort, the shoes are average and require a few hours of break-in time. The shoes are well cushioned, but the stiffness makes them feel a little hard on the feet. After a long playing session, your feet can get a little sore. However, the stiffness is not all bad, as I prefer shoes that are a bit stiffer. They make you feel sharper and more controlled compared to very cushioned shoes.

The Gel-Resolution 9 is well suited to the demanding player who prioritizes stability, support, and sharp movement. I have personally used the Gel-Resolution models for several years and have been pleased with their quality and playing experience.

Special Features

  • DYNAWAL™ technology makes lateral movements easier and more stable.
  • DYNAWRAP technology supports the position of the foot inside the shoe.
  • Full-length outsole that extends to the ground for improved grip during play.

Material Quality 9/10

Gel-Resolution 9 tennis shoes are built with quality materials. The upper and heel areas are coated with a strong rubber. In addition, the heel area and the flap of the shoe are well-padded with durable materials.

However, the flap of the Gel-Resolution model lacks the shoelace pocket found in the previous generation of tennis shoes.

Compared to other Asics tennis shoe models, the Gel-Resolutions have the second-best quality.

Comfort 8.5/10

Cushioning: the shoes are well padded and no surface rubs against the foot. The heel area is well cushioned and the foot doesn’t hurt during hard movements.

Stiffness: the shoes are a bit stiffer and do not fully flex to the shape of the foot. As a result, the shoes can feel hard in some situations. However, the stiffness allows the shoes to provide a sharper playing experience, as they push well against the foot.

Heel: the heel area is well-padded and upholstered. Shocks are well absorbed and the heel does not rub when playing.

Toes: there is enough room in the toe area and the toes are well-supported in the shoe. The ball of the foot is also well cushioned and the weight is well distributed over the sole of the shoe.

Prolonged use: the shoes are comfortable to play in, but for longer sessions, you may feel a slight strain on your feet.

Support And Stability 9/10

Lateral support: the shoes support the foot well in lateral movements, and the movement is easy to stop without rolling the ankle.

Ankle support: the ankle area is well supported and the ankle does not move unintentionally inside the shoe. The laces extend far enough so that the ankle and the instep can be locked securely. The Gel-Resolution 9 offers better ankle support than, say, the Solution Speed FF 3, where you have to thread the laces all the way to the last hole to lock the foot into the shoe.

Arch support: the arch of the foot has neutral support, making it suitable for players with over- or under-pronation.

Agility 9/10

Changes of direction: the shoes are surprisingly agile for their weight and don’t drag in the game.

Speed: because of their weight, the shoes are medium fast. Players looking for maximum speed might prefer the Solution Speed FF 3 and Gel-Challenger 14 models.

Flexibility: Gel-Resolution 9 shoes are designed to be stable and supportive. Although the Gel-Resolutions are stiff, they still offer good playing comfort.

Grip 9.5/10

Sole shape: the sole of the shoe consists of a flat section, unlike the Court FF 3 Novak and Solution Speed FF 3 models.

The grip on the court: the shoes have excellent grip and make it easy to control your movements on the court. The shoes do not slide unnecessarily and it is easy to stop the movement.

The grip in long use: the grip of the shoes remains good even during long playing sessions.

Breathability 8/10

Moisture: because of the thick rubber coating, the shoes are not as breathable as other Asics tennis shoe models. However, moisture condensation is not a problem and does not affect the playing characteristics of the shoe.

Weight 8.5/10

Compared to other Asics models, the Gel-Resolution 9 model is on the heavier side.

  • Court FF 3 Novak weight 14.29oz / 405g
  • Gel-Resolution 9 weight 13.8 oz / 393g
  • Gel-Challenger 14 weight 12.35oz / 350g
  • Solution Speed weight 10.58oz / 300g

The Fit 9/10

Size in general: the shoes fit well, so there’s no need to choose a size smaller or larger. For example, with Wilson’s shoes, I usually have to choose a size larger, as their shoe size does not match the general shoe sizes.

Width: the shoe sole is wide enough and does not squeeze laterally.

Adjustability: the fit of the shoes can be adjusted well with the laces, and the laces hold reasonably well. Sometimes during the game, you get the feeling that the laces should be tightened.

Value For Money 9.5/10

Price range: The new Gel-Resolution 9 shoes cost $150, so they’re a bit on the expensive side. For the price, they’re perfect for the active player who wants a quality, durable shoe.

Lifespan: The shoes are built with high-quality materials, so they will last at least 9 months of active use. I have used this model myself and the shoes have lasted well for almost a year now.

Asics Court FF Novak arvostelu

SUMMARY

Ideal for:

Solution Speed FF 3 is the lightest and most agile model from Asics, fitting for the fast player.

The Solution Speed FF 3 shoes are built with lightweight and flexible materials, so they can offer the player the best mobility compared to other Asics models.

The materials used in the shoe are of medium quality. As a result, the shoes wear out faster compared to Asics’ Court FF 3 Novak and Gel-Resolution models, for example, which use higher-quality materials.

Compared to other Asics models, the Solution Speed offers the best speed, lightness, and agility. When I played with these shoes, movement, and reaction felt easy and precise. Despite being extra light, the shoes provided good support and stability on the court.

In addition to speed, the shoes have excellent comfort. When I put the shoes on, I found that they required no break-in at all. Right from the first session, the shoes felt just right and flexible enough. During and after the game, I did not notice any pain or soreness in my feet.

The Solution Speed FF 3 shoes are therefore well suited to a player who prioritizes lightness, agility, and comfort.

Special Features

  • TWISTRUSS™ technology, which allows the shoe to offer greater flexibility and speed.
  • Extra light and flexible Speed Sole™ outsole.
  • FLYTEFOAM™ technology that improves the shoe’s take-off speed.

Material Quality 8/10

The Solution Speed FF 3 model has an average quality. The soles are well constructed with high-quality rubber, but the finish on the outside of the shoe could be better.

The outsole is finished with quality rubber, but the fabric underneath the rubber is not as high quality as the Court FF 3 Novak or Gel-Resolution models. However, the flap and interior of the shoe are built to a high quality and offer a surprisingly good level of comfort.

It is worth noting that due to their lightweight, the shoe is not able to use as high-quality materials as other Asics models.

Although the overall finish of the shoes leaves some room for improvement, overall they offer excellent comfort and support for the price.

Comfort 9.5/10

Cushioning: the shoes don’t seem to have any special cushioning on the outside, but on the foot, they feel just right, soft, and shock-absorbent.

Stiffness: the shoes are very flexible, which suits my style of play. The shoe doesn’t resist when making quick changes of direction and extreme movements, but adapts well to the shape of the foot.

Heel: the heel area feels cushioned and well-damped.

Toes: the toe area is very spacious and the toes remain well-supported in different movements.

Prolonged use: while playing, I did not notice any strain or pain in the feet from prolonged use. When I took the shoes off after playing, my feet felt fresh.

Support And Stability 8.5/10

Lateral support: the shoes support the foot well in lateral movements, but they are not as stable as the Court FF 3 Novak shoes.

Ankle support: the ankle area is lightly supported. I found that in my case, the shoelace also needs to be threaded through the last two holes to make the ankle feel supported enough. The ankle support could go further up the ankle, as it feels like the support stays a bit above the foot.

Arch support: the arch of the foot has neutral support, so it is suitable for players with over- or under-pronation.

Agility 10/10

Changes of direction: the lightness and flexibility of the shoes make it easy to make quick and precise changes of direction.

Speed: the Solution Speed FF 3 is particularly lightweight and, compared to heavier Asics models, does not drag at any stage of the match.

Flexibility: the shoes are particularly flexible, which makes them more agile and comfortable to wear.

Grip 8.5/10

Sole shape: the sole of the shoe consists of two raised sections in the same way as the Court FF 3 Novak.

The grip on hard court: the shoe has moderate grip, but does not offer as much grip compared to other Asics models. However, this is not a bad thing, as the lower grip makes it easier and more natural to glide on the court, which suits a fast style of play.

The grip in long use: the grip of the shoes is slightly reduced in long use, as the sole of the shoe becomes a little more slippery as it collects dust.

Breathability 9.5/10

Moisture: the shoes breathe well and the socks don’t get as wet compared to other Asics models.

Weight 10/10

Compared to other Asics models, the Solution Speed FF 3 is the lightest model.

  • Solution Speed weight 10.58oz / 300g
  • Court FF 3 Novak weight 12.49oz / 405g
  • Gel-Challenger 14 weight 12.35oz / 350g

The Fit 9/10

Size in general: the size of the shoe fits well, so there is no need to choose a size smaller or larger. For example, with Wilson’s shoes, I usually have to choose a size larger, as their shoe size does not match the general shoe sizes.

Width: the width of the shoe is wide enough and does not squeeze laterally.

Adjustability: the fit of the shoes is reasonably adjustable, but for the ankle, it is advisable to tie the laces all the way through.

Value For Money 9.5/10

Price range: the new Solution Speed FF 3 shoes cost $140, so they’re in the medium price range. The medium-priced shoes are well-suited to players of all levels. Although Solution Speed wears out faster than other Asics models, they offer value for money.

Lifespan: the shoes are made from medium-weight materials, so they will last around 6-12 months depending on the amount of times you play each week.

SUMMARY

Ideal for:

The Gel-Challenger 14 is a model designed for the casual player and is ideal for beginners.

The Gel-Challenger 14 shoes are built with relatively lightweight and flexible materials like the Solution Speed FF 3. However, their quality is not quite as good, but the lower quality allows them to be more affordable.

Compared to other Asics models, the Gel-Challengers offer the most value for money and versatility. They don’t have anything extra, but they offer the player a basic level of comfort, support, and durability.

The Gel Challenger 14 shoes are perfect for the player who wants a versatile shoe with good value for money.

Special Features

  • PGUARD toe protection improves the durability of the toe area.
  • DYNAWING technology for improved shoe stability.
  • AHARPLUS outsole for improved durability.

Material Quality 8/10

The Gel-Challenger 14 has an average quality. The materials of the shoe are very similar to those of the Solution Speed FF 3. The outsole and insole are finished with high-quality rubber, but the flap is more minimalist.

Compared to the Solution Speed, the Gel-Challenger’s flap is less padded and finished.

Comfort 8/10

Cushioning: the shoes have no special cushioning, but are comfortable in play. The only downside to comfort is that the inner part of the shoe is very lightly padded and you can feel the different seams of the shoe during extreme movements.

Stiffness: the shoes are flexible and adapt well to the movement of the foot in extreme situations.

Heel: the heel area feels cushioned, but not as dampened as the Solution Speed FF 3.

Toes: the toe area is very roomy and the toes remain supported through different movements.

Prolonged use: the shoes do not offer as good an experience for long games as other Asics models. Feet don’t get particularly sore from playing, but the lighter support and cushioning of the shoe do put more stress on the foot.

Support And Stability 8/10

Lateral support: shoes provide moderate support for the foot in lateral movement.

Ankle support: the ankle area is well supported and it feels like the foot prevents movement inside the shoe.

Arch support: the arch of the foot has neutral support, making it suitable for players with over- or under-pronation. The shoe could have additional support at the arch as the sole is flat and not raised like the Court FF 3 Novak and Solution Speed FF 3 models.

Agility 8.5/10

Changes of direction: the lighter weight and flexibility of the shoes make it easy to change direction. For tight turns, the shoes could offer a little more support and push against the foot.

Speed: the shoes are light and flexible and allow you to move quickly.

Flexibility: the shoes flex well, which makes them agile and comfortable.

Grip 9/10

Sole shape: the sole of the shoe consists of a flat section, unlike the Court FF 3 Novak and Solution Speed FF 3 models. Thanks to the flat sole, the shoes can provide a better grip for the movement for the recreational player.

The grip on the hard court: the shoes have a good grip and make it easy to control your movements on the court. The shoes do not slide unnecessarily and the movement is easy to stop.

The grip in long use: the grip of the shoes remains good even during long sessions.

Breathability 8/10

Moisture: the shoes will collect some moisture as they are fully covered in rubber. Compared to other Asics models, except the Gel-Resolution, the socks will be a bit soggy after the sessions.

Weight 9/10

Compared to other Asics models: the Gel-Challenger 14 is on the lighter end.

  • Solution Speed weight 10.58oz / 300g
  • Gel-Challenger 14 weight 12.35oz / 350g
  • Court FF 3 Novak weight 12.49oz / 405g

The Fit 8.5/10

Size in general: the size of the shoe fits well, so there is no need to choose a size smaller or larger. For example, with Wilson’s shoes, I usually have to choose a size larger, as their shoe size does not match the general shoe sizes.

Width: the width of the shoe is wide enough and does not squeeze laterally. The shoes could be a little tighter at the toe area.

Adjustability: the fit of the shoes is well adjustable by using the laces.

Value For Money 9.5/10

Price range: the new Gel-Challenger 14 shoes cost $100 and are in the mid-price range. The mid-priced shoes are well-suited for beginners and slightly more active players.

Lifespan: the shoes are made of medium-weight materials, so they will last around 6-12 months depending on the amount of times you play per week.
