In this article, you’ll find an overview of tennis clothing price ranges, from affordable options to more high-end brands. Compared to other sportswear, tennis clothing tends to be slightly more expensive than average. In terms of pricing, it usually sits somewhere between running gear, which is often more affordable, and golf apparel, which is generally more expensive.
While tennis clothing is not strictly required to play the sport, it is designed with specific features that can be helpful, especially for female players. For example, tennis skirts and shorts often come with hidden ball pockets, providing a convenient way to carry tennis balls during a match.
This article doesn’t include tennis shoe costs, but you can find a more detailed article about it here.

High-end Tennis Clothing Brands
High-end tennis clothing brands are mostly aimed at lifestyle-focused or more serious players who care about style and top-level comfort. Theyβre known for using quality materials and offering unique designs. I havenβt had the chance to try them much myself, so I canβt say for sure how good the value for money is. But from what Iβve seen, a big part of the price often comes from the brand name rather than just the materials.

TennisLeo’s Clothing Picks
I personally prefer these brands because theyβve proven to offer good comfort, value for money, and design. These picks aren’t part of any brand collaboration.
Asics

Asics is a Japanese sports brand founded in 1949. The brand is known for the letter “a” and its stripes logo. Besides sportswear, Asics is one of the largest and most popular manufacturers of tennis shoes.
Asics’ clothing designs are on the looser end of the fitting spectrum, so their designs have more room compared to, for example, Le Coq Sportif. Asics t-shirts have slightly longer sleeves than other tennis brands.
The quality and durability of Asics clothing are very good. They keep their shape and remain in good condition even after several washes. The exception is the basic Asics t-shirts, whose fabric wears out after a few years.
In terms of price, Asics tennis clothes are a little on the expensive side, with shirts and shorts costing between $40 and $80
Did you know the name Asics comes from a quote from Roman satirist Juvenal meaning Anima Sana In Corpore Sano” (“You should pray for a healthy mind in a healthy body”
Clothing
Asics tennis clothes are minimalist in design, just like Le Coq Sportif’s clothes. Their basic color is often blue or white, which is the same as the Asics logo. Asics also offers more colorful clothing and a variety of prints.
Asics clothes are made of high-quality materials and feel comfortable to wear. The materials breathe well and stay dry during tennis sessions.
From my experience, I’ve noticed that Asics tennis shorts tend to have very good sizing. Many tennis shorts are either too short and tight or too long and loose, but Asics shorts have just the right balance between length and fit.
Tennis Shoes
Asics also manufactures tennis shoes in addition to tennis clothing. I have been wearing Asics tennis shoes for several years, as they are the best-fitting model for my foot and are durable and comfortable.
Asics offers many different models of tennis shoes for different types of players, and you can read more about them here.
Asics Athletes
Asics sportswear and shoes in particularly endorsed by many tennis players, including Alex de Minaur, Novak Djokovic, and Matteo Berrettini.
Le Coq Sportif

Le Coq Sportif is a French sports brand founded in 1882. The brand is famous for the Gallic rooster as its logo and the blue, white, and red colors of the French flag.
In my experience, Le Coq Sportif is a high-quality brand with clothes that fit well and are durable. After washing many times, the clothes retain their shape and print. In addition, the clothes do not fray in use like cheaper sportswear.
Le Coq Sportif is mid-range in terms of price, with shirts and shorts costing between $35 and $60.
Clothing
Le Coq Sportif tennis clothes are minimalist in design compared to, for example, Nike’s. Le Coq Sportif clothes usually come in one color and feature the distinctive Gallic rooster logo. Its colors often vary between blue, white, and red, mimicking the colors of the French flag.
The materials used in Le Coq Sportif clothing are of high quality and breathable. The clothes are comfortable to wear and do not become noticeably damp during the game.
Le Coq Sportif clothing designs are more fitted, so T-shirts, for example, do not sag. However, the clothes are not too tight and are easy and comfortable to play tennis in. Personally, I prefer sportswear to fit more snugly, so that flappy garments don’t interfere with the game.
Tennis Shoes
Le Coq Sportif also makes tennis shoes, but in very small quantities, and I haven’t had a chance to test them yet.
Le Coq Sportif Athletes
Le Coq Sportif is used by tennis players such as Richard Gasquet, Yannick Noah, Lucas Pouille, and Chloe Paquet.
Nike Court
NikeCourt is Nike’s more expensive and slightly higher quality tennis collection. Its clothes are designed in a vintage style, giving them a slightly more relaxed overall fit. From my own experience, NikeCourt clothes are of better quality compared to Nike’s basic sportswear and retain prints, colors, and sizes well.
