Summary

Wilson Sensation is a thin, easy-to-install overgrip with low stretch. Since the grip is thinner than the Comfort model, it provides a better racket feel and feedback for demanding players. The Sensation grip has a similar surface to the Comfort grip, so it’s medium-low-tacky and offers average grip in prolonged playing sessions.

For background: I’m using a Tecnifibre TFight 305S racket with a 4 1/4 (L2) grip, fitted with the base grip plus an overgrip. Since I prefer my grip size to feel slightly larger, I usually play with the base grip and two overgrips layered on top.

Disclaimer: Tennis grip preferences are very individual; what feels wrong for one player might work well for someone else.

Then, straight to the point: this overgrip didn’t suit me at all. This might have been because of my setup with an extra overgrip underneath or simply due to my grip size. When I tried applying the Wilson Sensation overgrip, I had to redo the wrapping several times because it kept ending up too short and wouldn’t cover the whole handle.

When I finally managed to get it to cover the full handle, the grip was stretched quite a lot. After playing with it, it felt bland and not tacky at all. After a few sessions, I decided to replace it.

Overall, I don’t want to criticize the Wilson Sensation overgrip too harshly, but I personally couldn’t make it work.
