Asics crew sock
Pros & Cons
Details
Model Name: The CREW SOCK
Price: 3 pairs for $15
Length: Medium
SUMMARY
The crew sock is the basic Asics sock for tennis. It is made from lightweight materials and has light cushioning on heel, foot bed, and toe areas. The sock wraps comfortably around the foot and doesn’t squeeze or curl up during play.
The length of the sock is medium so I have to roll it down a bit to make sure it doesn’t cover the whole shin. When the socks come out of the package they seem long, but after the first wash they shrink to a suitable length.
In terms of breathability, the socks are medium, so they don’t get very damp in basic use. After longer playing sessions, depending on the shoe, the socks will collect some moisture.
In terms of durability, the shape or material of the socks does not suffer much from washing and one pair may well last more than a year of demanding use.
In my opinion, the crew sock from Asics is the best all-round tennis sock on the market, as it is affordable, comfortable and durable.
Asics court + tennis crew sock
Pros & Cons
Details
Model Name: COURT + TENNIS CREW SOCK
Price: 1 pair $17
Length: Medium-short
SUMMARY
The Asics court + tennis crew sock is a sock designed for demanding tennis use. It is made of a thicker and softer material compared to the crew sock from Asics.
The sock wraps really well and securely around the foot. Thanks to the extra cushioning, the socks make tennis shoes feel much softer and more stable.
Even though this model is tight and specially cushioned, it doesn’t feel cramped at any point. In terms of length, the court + tennis crew sock model is shorter than the crew sock model, so there is no need to roll them down.
Breathability-wise, the socks are of above average quality, so there is no problem with moisture in basic use and even after long playing sessions the socks stay reasonably dry.
In terms of durability, these socks are designed for long-term performance. They keep their shape and size through repeated use, and the high-quality material resists wear and tear well. A single pair can last over a year in demanding use.
In my opinion, Asics court + tennis crew socks are one of the best socks for the demanding tennis player. They are very comfortable, supportive, durable and breathable. They are also just the right length. The only downside of the court + tennis crew sock model is the price, as one pair costs $17.
